Cott - lightweighting

Constar actively promotes lightweight, cost effective packaging within its own products and with our lightweight preform range. We give our customers the opportunity to be market leaders in reduced weight PET packaging.

Constar have developed a range of preforms to promote this lightweighting activity to aid Cott Beverages reduce their product range by 2gms on both 1 litre and 2 litre products. Specifically going from 34g to 32.5g and 43g to 41g. Further activities are in progress to reduce these weights further and optimise the preform specific to their bottle range.

This weight reduction activity has helped to improve the environmental impact of these packages by being more energy efficient in production and lighter in weight.

Constar are continually developing preform designs to lightweight products even further and give our customers the competitive edge they require.
